There is a plethora of information
within this site on Systemic Lupus and links to other sites which can
provide resources and support locally and nationwide. I do not belong to any particular
group or organization. I am a survivor and an independent advocate. It is with
great joy that I make
myself available to any patient who seeks support or a kind word of
encouragement during a frightening and seemingly hopeless world of diagnosis,
prognosis and a life of changes. I also find great lessons from those who
share their unique stories and the network continues to grow. I invite You
to contact me via email and become a part of this growing network of those
with lupus who want to make a difference and help others along the way while
receiving the support you (we) so deserve. If you have something you want to
post or a web link or Blog to add to our site please forward.

Lupus Note Cards are in!!! If you ever have Pharmacy Solutions on Jackson Ave. in Ann Arbor provides free consultations and natural-metabolic options or add-ons to your drug regimen. Their knowledge of cutting edge supplements and prescription medications is very unique. Their phone number is 734-821-8000. They do accept many insurance plans for prescriptions and what is not covered is usually tax deductible or some insurance providers will reimburse. Your Dr. will have to write a prescription for the consultation and for all medications and OTC's you decide to take. Personally I have found great help in reducing the amount of meds I take as they also help you with eliminating those things you do not need or tell you if you are doubling up on meds or taking inadequate or excessive amounts of meds or supplements. We all need to take supplements which support our total health and can find a way to mix natural with drug safely and effectively with the help of a clinical pharmacologist. From then on they manage your regimen, allergies etc. It makes it very easy. A clinical pharmacologist is a part of your health care team just like your nephrologist, dietician, P.T. and family Dr. Yoga class for those who may have special needs or desire a lighter exercise regime. This class is offered to anyone with all tools provided in a comfortable setting at the Chelsea Wellness Center Friday's 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. You May leave after 45 minutes if this amount of time is too much. I have taken many yoga and other exercise programs and I can say this one is great for bone, joint or muscular issues and one can modify the workout with help from the instructor, Nancy, who is very knowledgeable about Arthritis and Lupus. Call 734-475-4100 for details. They also have a warm water therapy pool and very nice facilities for all levels of activity and P.T's who may assist if needed. Great Lakes Institute of Manual Therapy offers more than just a workout or physical therapy session. They provide manual therapy and a hands on approach to your tailored workout with a person by your side making sure you are doing all the exercises correctly. You get a one hour session covered by most insurance and Medicare. They also have a massage therapist who is available for private sessions. Once you are done with PT and ready to workout on your own they have a membership for past clients which is very reasonable and helpful. You still get someone looking out for you and adding to your regimen. Located on South State Street near The Produce Station and Golf Course.
